Echoed started as Zorium — a Discord alternative focused on lightweight performance. We built a platform on Tauri and Rust that uses a fraction of the resources other chat apps demand.
As we listened to our community, we realized people weren't just looking for another chat app. They wanted a space that felt like theirs. A place away from mainstream social media noise. A secret spot for their inner circle.
So we evolved. We rebranded to Echoed to reflect that vision — the internet's lightweight basement where your squad hangs out off the grid. Today we use ~90MB of RAM versus Discord's 700MB+.
